Bun's interest in working dogs began while serving in the United States Air Force. He worked directly with the largest K-9 Unit in the Armed Forces as a decoy and helping with training any way possible. He pursed this interest until 1996 when he became a K-9 Handler at the Sheriff's Office in Alachua County. In 2001 he became the Training Coordinator for the K-9 Unit. He has trained, maintained and certified numerous K-9's in Patrol and Detection to include narcotics, explosives and cadaver. He is a certified K-9 trainer in the State of Florida and also a State and National Evaluator for Patrol and Detection Dogs. Retiring in 2006 after 20 years of Military and Civilian Law Enforcement he began his second career with Pepe at J & K Canine Academy Inc. At J & K he is involved in all apsects of training with a primary responsibiltie in the Scent Detection Division.
