The family owned and operated business has grown to over 6000 clients to date. J & K provides basic obedience as well as advanced training programs for the everyday pet. Pepe has been involved in training dogs for over 16 years. He spent 5 years as a K-9 handler with the police department in Gainesville, Florida. After retiring from law enforcement, he founded J & K Canine Academy in 1996 after discovering the need for a better understanding of dog behavior, as well as a void in many existing programs, which many times fell short in meeting the needs of both the consultations specializing in aggression modification for over thirty veterinarians in north central Florida. His scent division is currently involved in the research and development of bed bug detection canines using proprietary training methods developed with the University of Florida. The scent division also includes, narcotics, explosives, cadaver, termite, and melonoma cancer (funded by SHANDS Hospital) detection dogs.
